"Changes" is a three-level general English course for young adult learners. The complete course takes students from near-beginner to intermediate standard. "Changes" uses a British English model, but reflects the fact that English is a language of international communication, not limited to one country, region or culture. The course is based on a multi-skills syllabus which integrates structural, functional, lexical, phonological, situational and thematic syllabi. The methodology reflects a communicative approach, with an emphasis on both fluency and accuracy. Special features of "Changes" include: very clear organisation and progression, review units after every three units, real world content, texts based on authentic materials, selected for their appeal to a young adult audience, task-based listening activities providing examples of a wide variety of accents, systematic treatment of aspects of English phonology, opportunities for personal expression, enjoyable and motivating learning for young adults, conversational language, 'Interchange' information gap activities in each unit.
